luvia land
Luvia Land guides primary school children in their early foreign language education journey. Created by English as a Foreign Language Teacher, Ceyda HoÅŸgör, it is a place where foreign languages open doors to self-discovery, connection, and wonders of the world. Luvia Land also presents courses for adults who are interested in pedagogies. All together, we explore alternative ways of learning for the cultivation of imagination and creativity for mindful nows to create better futures.
Luvian Method of Early Foreign Language Education

The Luvian Method is rooted in philosophies drawn from the Finnish educational system, Waldorf education, and depth psychology, with technology and place-based learning serving as mediums for early foreign language education. Luvian Method emerged as a spin-off project of the PGDip in Waldorf Education and Creative Pedagogies at Bath Spa University, UK.
Collective knowledge-making is valued. The first cohort of primary school children will participate in the visual and audio art project. This project gained Luvia Land acceptance into the Master's degree program in Creative Computing at Shifta by the Barcelona University School of Design and Engineering.

Ceyda HoÅŸgör is an English as a Foreign Language Teacher and the founder of Luvia Land. She holds an undergraduate degree in ELT from Marmara University, Türkiye, a master’s degree in Early Foreign Language Education for Intercultural Communication from the University of Eastern Finland, and she is continuing her education in Creative Pedagogies and Waldorf Education at Bath Spa University, UK. She will soon begin her second master’s degree in Creative Computing at Shifta by Elisiva.
She is passionate about exploring alternative approaches to learning and integrating creative pedagogies that foster imagination, curiosity, and meaningful engagement. Luvia Land embodies her vision: a learning environment where children develop early foreign language skills while connecting deeply with themselves, others, and the world around them.
Through her approach, she encourages children to become active participants in their learning, offering experiential, place-based experiences that inspire creativity, wonder, and respect for both the human and the more-than-human world.
As fate would have it;
Here is a photo of her at six months old. It was a special occasion, as her very first tooth had just appeared. In Turkey, this moment is celebrated with a tradition called “tooth wheat” (diÅŸ buÄŸdayı). The wheat is boiled, and cooled wheat is gently poured over the baby’s head as a symbol of health and abundance. Afterwards, various objects are placed on a tray for the baby to choose from, each believed to hint at their future talents or profession. She reached out with her left hand for a pencil and with her right hand for a golden bracelet. The pencil symbolizes writing, learning, and teaching, while in Turkish culture, the golden bracelet ofren represents turning knowledge into a livelihood. And so it seems to have unfolded; she has grown to love learning and sharing it with the world. It feels like destiny, her very own ikigai.

Seida,” the Finnish pronunciation of Ceyda, refers to sacred stones for the Sámi people living in Finland, regarded as living entities. In Luvian Method, this inspires learning spaces that celebrate the natural world and foster experiential, place-based learning where children engage meaningfully with knowledge, themselves, others, and their surroundings.
